
"We welcome the changes introduced by the Valuation (Amendment) Act 2015 and would encourage clubs across Ireland to apply for the partial exemption ahead of the September 15 deadline," said FAI Facilities Director Richard Fahey.
"There are potential significant saving on rates for many of our clubs thanks to this change so it is important that our clubs and leagues look into the opportunity that may be there for them."

Partial Exemption from Commercial Rates for Community Sports Clubs
The Valuation (Amendment) Act 2015 provides a new partial exemption from commercial rates for Community Sports Clubs that are registered under the Registration of Clubs (Ireland) Act 1904.
Buildings or part of buildings used for or in conjunction with the sale or consumption of alcohol or food, retail use or hire to non-community organisations continue to be liable for rates.
In order to avail of this partial exemption, Community Sports Clubs registered under the Registration of Clubs (Ireland) Act 1904 are required to complete and submit an application, with supporting documentation, to the Valuation Office on or before Tuesday September 15th 2015.
