FAI Football Development officer Jason O'Connor has done excellent work in tandem with local Gardai to provide a regular escape from anti-social behaviour and it has worked well so far.

The Late Nite Leagues campaign has been a huge success in recent years, but it has largely catered for young kids and teenagers. Now, this new version in the Factory Youthspace in Southill is open to adults.

The League is a joint initiative between O'Connor and Seargent Adrian Whelan, Roxboro Garda station, and has seen over 60 players from all over the city take part thus far.

Aside from simply playing football, the aim of the League is to engage with adult males and promote physical exercise & the positive attributes associated with the game. While positive links can also be built between the FAI, Gardai and the local community.

Each of the games are refereed by Gardai Sean Buckley and Adrian Healy, while the standard has been impressively high and an indicator of the talent that exists in Limerick.
