Miriam has been successfully appointed to the position of CEO with Paralympics Ireland. This is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved next step in her career.
Miriam has worked with the FAI since 2005, where she has been a much-valued member of staff, and as a Director with the Association. She began her career as the Unit Manager of the FAI Grassroots Programme and in 2008 she was promoted to the role of Technical Department Manager responsible for the implementation process of the Technical Development Plan.
Over her time she developed strong relationships, which she has maintained through partnerships with Sport Ireland, Local Authorities, UEFA and FIFA. This led to her appointment to the position of Business Partnerships Manager in August 2013, where she focused on strategic planning and increasing Sports Development participation, assessing future funding applications and managing major funding relationships.
Miriam was more recently promoted to Business Partnerships Director in January 2016 and has been a member of the Executive team since 2011.
FAI CEO John Delaney said: "I would like to thank Miriam for her many years of dedication and loyalty to the Association. She has brought with her professionalism and expertise that will be sorely missed at this level.
"On behalf of everyone, I'd like to wish Miriam many years of success as CEO at Paralympics Ireland, the next natural progression in her career."
Speaking today, Miriam said that her time in the FAI was "a great experience", which played a huge part in her career development.
"Working within the FAI for over 10 years has been a great experience for me, and has been a solid grounding in Irish sports development and administration.
"I have had the privilege of working with many excellent people in the FAI, from whom I have learned so much. I would like to thank them for all of their support and wish the FAI continued success. I would like to thank John Delaney, in particular, for all of his support and guidance over the years which I very much appreciate.
"Through my work in the FAI I have had the pleasure of working with so many great stakeholders, partners, committee members and volunteers at international, national and local level. At every level I have encountered very professional and dedicated people all focused on achieving common goals for the betterment of Irish sport.
"The experience gained from working with the FAI will of course be helpful as I move on to the next step in my career with Paralympics Ireland."
