The 2017/18 season for Third Level football was launched at the FAI National Training Centre on Wednesday, September 13 with new sponsors RUSTLERS turning things up.

With over 110 teams set to compete in the upcoming season, it promises to be another exciting campaign as both the men's and women's teams will play their games under the CUFL banner.

The various colleges & university teams have a number of SSE Airtricity League and Continental Tyres Women's National League players in their squads, while many of the current players recently represented Ireland at the World University Games in Taipei.

Mark Scanlon, FAI National Coordinator for Schools and Third Level Football, said: "Third Level Football is playing an increasingly important role in the pathway for our young players and we are delighted to see such a great turnout at today's launch as excitement builds ahead of the new season.

"We are delighted to welcome RUSTLERS on board this season as our title sponsors and we look forward to forging a long term relationship with them to develop our Third Level Football competitions."

Adrian Lawlor, Marketing and Business Development Director, Kepak, said: "At RUSTLERS, we are committed to supporting the concept of young people combining sport and education which was a major motivating factor in partnering with the FAI back in May of this year.

"Over the next four years, we look forward to supporting the efforts of the Colleges and Universities governing bodies to grow both participation in the sport and to add some fun engagement for football supporters around the competitions."
