Following a 2-2 draw at FAI National Training Centre earlier in the week, Jason Donoghue's squad regrouped and faced the same opposition again - with a few changes made.

One of the tweaks saw Calum Kavanagh - son of former Ireland senior international Graham - take on the captain's armband, while Oisin Hand repaid faith in him starting by netting the opening goal.

With less than 10 minutes played, Hand found himself in the right area to smash in the goal that brought the game to life and secured an early advantage for the hosts.

Czech Republic tested and stretched Ireland throughout the game by displaying their swift counter-attacking style. But Ireland stood strong with a number of players impressing.

The win was sealed late on when Oran Crowe scored his second goal of this series deep into added time - much to the delight of the home crowd.

Republic of Ireland: Daniel Rose; Anselmo Garcia MacNulty, Oisin Hand, Calum Kavanagh, Ben McCormack, Oran Crowe, Bosun Lawal, Kailin Barlow, Fionn Mooney, Fionnan Coyle, Len O'Sullivan.

Czech Republic: Radek Vitek; Filip Prebsl, Sebastian Novak, Tobias Cohla, Matej Hadas, Adam Karabec, Ondrej Sprinz, Martin Vitik, Roman Fukala, Jan Jelen, Daniel Langhamer.

Referee: Dylan Carolan.
