Played in Lesser Hampden in Glasgow, the game was hampered by driving rain but that didn't stop the two teams from wanting to play attacking football.

Andy Noonan was able to select a strong squad that included players from his own Bluebell United, as well as Greystones United, St Mochta's, Newbridge Town, Killester United, Crumlin United, and Firhouse Clover.

The goals flew in early on with the scores level at 1-1 after 22 minutes as Bluebell striker Shane Stritch scored for the Irish outfit. That would prove to be the only goal for the visitors.

In what was the 19th staging of this game, Scotland edged it to move onto 10 victories overall. They were made to work hard for it but the game was played in a competitive spirit and they were worthy winners.

FAI CEO John Delaney was present to hand over the Graham Harkness Memorial Trophy to Scotland captain Andrew McGown.
