
The draw was made by former Republic of Ireland international Keith Fahey, who was a member of the St Patrick’s Athletic team that won the trophy in 2014, and Fran Gavin, Director of Competitions at the Football Association of Ireland. The draw was broadcast live on RTE Radio One’s Morning Ireland programme and also on RTE News Now.
The result of the draw was:
Dundalk v Longford Town
Bray Wanderers v Cork City or Derry City
The matches will be played back to back on Sunday, October 4 and will be broadcast live on RTÉ2. Dundalk and Bray Wanderers will have home advantage in the semi-finals. The Cork City v Derry City replay will take place this evening at 7.45pm in Turner’s Cross and will be played to a finish with provision for extra-time and penalties if required.
The final is scheduled for the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, November 8.
