Langley itching for EA Sports Cup final

Ahead of the EA Sports Cup Final, the St Patrick's Athletic ace admitted that adapting to life in the SSE Airtricity League wasn't that straightforward but he is very much someone who embraces a challenge.

Langley, a native of Hawaii, United States, learned quickly to adjust to the physicality, the tempo, and the passion of his teammates. Understanding them - especially Wexford's Greg Bolger - took a little more work though.

Now that he finally feels settled, Langley is showing exactly what he can do on the pitch. It is why he could be in line to start in the EA Sports Cup Final against Galway United - which would be his first ever Cup final.

“I’m very excited to go into the EA Sports Cup Final. Winning any sort of silverware is exciting, but winning in your first year would be amazing. It’s the reason why I came to St Pat’s,” said Langley.

“I know that this club, particularly in the last few years, has a history of winning silverware, so I would just like to be a part of that. This Cup final is an opportunity to do that and I’m excited to do what I can to help us win it.”

Langley took a chance when agreeing to sign for St Pat's and that kind of risk-taking is evident in his style of play as he is someone who can pop up anywhere in the attacking third and make something happen.

St Pat's manager Liam Buckley likes players who can think for themselves in difficult situations and the EA Sports Cup Final should prove to be a unique testing ground for the American. But this is why he answered Buckley's call.

"I've really enjoyed my time with St Pat's and I feel like I've gotten to know the League a lot better," said Langley, who arrived from Harrisburg City Islanders.

"The passion took me by a surprise. I mean, I knew that Irish people loved their soccer but it's very intense - in a good way - and there is a lot of expectation from fans and the players themselves."

Langley secured a free pass from the Saints supporters after scoring against rivals Shamrock Rovers earlier this season, but he knows that simply helping the team win is all that matters.

In a funny way, he will be more than happy to be just another player in the EA Sports Cup Final if it means St Pat's lifting the trophy. Just like walking down the street unnoticed, he goes about his business in a quiet manner.

Introduction:
On his days off, Morgan Langley likes to wander around the streets of Dublin. It's just his way of finding his feet in a new city. On the pitch, however, it's been a little different.
