Ireland defeated host Lithuania 7-0 on Tuesday evening, and Connell knows another three points on Friday will book the team's path to the Elite Round next Spring with a game to spare.

Ukraine defeated the Faroe Islands 4-0 on Tuesday, and Connell expects the opposition to come out fighting after a heavy defeat.

"The country have put a lot of structures in place for the women's game and that's coming to fruition now. We watched their game against Ukraine, and they created a lot of chances. We feel there is areas we can exploit and we hope to do that tomorrow."

Six different players scored in Tuesday's win, and Connell has been pleased with the depth of his squad this season.

"We hope to make a few changes. That will take some of the heat of some players that had a lot of game time going to Lithuania.

"When I look at our bench, I never have any issues putting any players on. It never upsets the rhythm of the team. Everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.

"We want to get the three points. We want to qualify and then focus on our last game."
