The Finals of the tournament will take place over three days at the University of Limerick at the beginning of next month.
The final eight will be decided as of a result of next week's clashes.
2014 winners, Maynooth University will face their CUFL Premier Division opposition Trinity College in the Kildare campus on Tuesday night. It has been a subpar year for the City Centre institution with their place in the Premier Division in peril as they await a Relegation Play-Off against Colaiste Stiofain Naofa of Cork.
When the two sides faced off in October in College Park, it was Maynooth who took the three points courtesy of a 1-0 win with forward Cian Hughes grabbing the all-important goal in a closely fought encounter. It was not a disappointing performance by any means from Trinity who had opportunities to equalise and put the pressure on in the second half as Darragh Gannon was dismissed for Maynooth.
The champions, UCD, face a trip to Limerick on Wednesday to secure a rematch of last year's final with Queen's University Belfast in the Quarter-Finals. Diarmuid McNally's side have been ruthless thus far with a perfect 100% record in the CUFL Premier Division with their last win coming against IT Sligo in the North West. Their opposition cannot boast a similar list of form as they struggled in the Division One South with no wins to their name. Noel O'Connor's side will be hoping that they can invoke the spirit of 2012 which saw them overturn UL and UCC to reach the final in Limerick, where they ultimately fell short to none other than their current opposition, UCD.
In the third tie of the round, NUI Galway and Ulster University will meet on neutral ground to determine who will face the Royal College of Surgeons in the last eight. The last time the two sides met in the Collingwood was in 2008 when the then known University of Ulster Jordanstown put four past their Connacht rivals in the semi-final before going on to lift the 105 year old trophy. Both sides have been in excellent form in the CUFL this season with Galway finishing second in the Division One South Group with wins over Limerick IT, Mary Immaculate College and GMIT Galway. A division below, Ulster University have made it four wins from four thus far in their group including a 2-1 victory over local rivals Queen's University in the final round of action before Christmas. Although their higher status will favour the Galway side, the Northerners will pose a serious question to them when they meet in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon.
