Stephen Kenny attends Homeless Street League finals

Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager Stephen Kenny was in attendance to hand out the awards as teams from Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Longford, Mullingar and Galway battled it out. 

Both men and women competed in the tournament as Mullingar's team won the men's tournament after beating Cork in the final whilst the winner of the women's tournament was Sari after beating Dublin Pearse Street. 

The tournament, founded by Sean Kavanagh, and affiliated to the FAI Football for All programme was also attended by former Republic of Ireland international Niall Quinn, Shamrock Rovers players Brandon Kavanagh and Daniel Carr, and South Dublin County Mayor Mark Ward. 

The Irish Homeless Street Leagues was founded in 2004 and targets the homeless and rough sleepers, ex-offenders, long-term unemployed, refugees and asylum seekers & drug and alcohol dependents in rehabilitation. It aims to build self-esteem and self-discipline within individuals through the power of football.
