Reigning champions Wexford Youths WFC play host to Peamount United, Shelbourne Ladies FC entertain Kilkenny United WFC, and Galway WFC go up against Castlebar Celtic on Saturday evening.

On Sunday afternoon, Cork City WFC will take on UCD Waves to complete the weekend's action as the new season begins to gather momentum.

Both Wexford and Shelbourne will have started their preparations for next weekend's Continental FAI Women's Senior Cup Final at Aviva Stadium, but this round of League games will not be taken lightly by either.

"I've told the girls that we're not talking about the Aviva Stadium. I'm refusing to mention it, Kilkenny is the focus until Sunday morning," said Shelbourne manager Casey McQuillan.

It is a sentiment shared by Wexford boss Will Doyle who refuses to discount the challenge of Peamount despite recently beating them because he knows just how dangerous they can be.

"I have an awful lot of respect for them [Peamount]. We have a few players with niggles so it's about getting the balance right with the Cup final looming. The three points is very important," said Doyle.

Peamount and Kilkenny, who travel to take on Wexford and Shelbourne respectively, have made some notable strides since the beginning of the season, while Galway continue to impress and they know that they face a tough test against Castlebar.

It will another competitive affair between Cork City and UCD as Niall O'Regan's side will be able to call on Saoirse Noonan and Tiegan Ruddy who both recently helped the Republic of Ireland Women's Under 17s top their UEFA European Championship qualifying group.
