Ballaghaderreen FC from Roscommon were founded in 1967. In 2008 they developed and built the Community Park which is now the home of Ballaghaderreen Football Club. It currently has two full-size pitches, a walking track, an astro pitch and a Club House which has four dressing rooms, a referees room, meeting room and kitchen to cater for all the club and Community needs.
The Club currently caters for both Boys and Girls and have 220 underage kids, 50 Junior members and 30 volunteers which all make up the Club. Our current teams take part in Roscommon and District League, Roscommon School Boys League and Midwestern Girls League.
Ballaghaderreen FC are the first Club in Roscommon to recieve this Award. Part of the process is to ensure all Coaches, Managers and Committee members are Garda Vetted and have all attended Child Welfare Course. All of the teams now have a qualified Coach with them.
A special thanks goes to Adrian Carberry, FAI Devolopment Officer in Rocommon who worked hard to ensure the Club achieved this Award.
This gives parents the assurance and peace of mind that all kids in the Club are in safe hands.
