President McAnaney said: “I am delighted that all those Council members who voted today, voted in favour of this proposal from our Board. It is a significant step forward for the new FAI and the ringing endorsement by Council today just highlights their support for real change in Irish football.
"On behalf of Senior Council, I would also like to thank all those Board members and staff who have worked so hard since the AGM in Trim last July to get us to this point.
