A further 300 clubs are in the process of completing the Entry Level award, while six clubs have already moved on to the next level of the FAI Club Mark, by completing the One Star Award.

Sporting Greystones FC was founded in September 2017 by Brian Larkin and Peter Baxter who wanted to ensure that their sons could play football locally. The club now has grown and there are currently 11 teams as well as an academy with over 130 members for players born between 2006 - 2014. The club are members of the DDSL and this year successfully ran it's first INTERSPORT Elverys FAI Summer Soccer School.

The club prides itself on focussing on player development and not on results. This ethos is evidenced by the fact that there are no "A' and "B" teams. Managers are encouraged to continue their own learning through the PDP Grassroots pathway.

The club has a very supportive and energetic committee that ensures a safe and friendly environment for the real lifeblood of the club - the members. Visitors regularly comment on the friendly welcome they receive at the club's home ground - Dr Ryan Park, Chapel Road, Greystones, Co Wicklow. Facilities include a clubhouse, shop, Astro and grass pitches.

The club would like to thank our local FAI Wicklow Development Officer Richie Fitzgibbon for his continued support and guidance also special thanks to Niall O'Driscoll & Bray Wanderers FC, Catherine from Kenmare Community Centre,  Ed Allen from Rosemary Scallan & Co Solicitors and Wicklow County Council, and sponsors Tropical Medical Bureau, Eddie Darcy, Jim Wood of The Wood Group, Brady's of Greystones, The Burrito Box, SuperValu & Tesco Greystones.

The FAI Club Mark is free and optional for clubs and aims to:

•          Improve the management of clubs ‘off the field’

•          Establish and promote best practice

•          Empower and support clubs

•          Recognise and reward clubs for achieving high standards

•          Increase a club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
