Athboy Club Mark

Established in 1982, the club have traditionally had their base in ‘The Convent Grounds’ in Athboy but have recently expanded to new additional facilities at ‘The Athboy Celtic Community Park’. These include 2 x 6-a-side astro pitches and a new full sized grass pitch. The new clubhouse is in the process of being completed.

The club has over 250 members with underage boys and girls teams from Under 7s up to Under 18s that participate in the NECSL. They also operate a Mini-Kickers Academy which offers fun skill based football for kids from 4 years old. During the winter, Futsal sessions are provided also. As well as underage teams, the Club has two Senior teams who compete in the NEFL. In recent years the Senior teams have had numerous successes including a Division 2 Title.

The club wouldn’t be where they are today without the hard work and dedication of its Volunteers, Coaches, Committee, Members, Players & Parents. Athboy is a great community and the club would like to thank all local sponsors who have supported the club tremendously over the years.

The FAI Club Mark is free and optional for clubs and aims to:

•          Improve the management of clubs ‘off the field’

•          Establish and promote best practice

•          Empower and support clubs

•          Recognise and reward clubs for achieving high standards

•          Increase a club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
