Stella Maris complete FAI Club Mark Entry Level

The club was established in 1943 and is a founder member of the Dublin & District Schoolboys League (DDSL)

Stella Maris are headquartered at Dublin Port Stadium on Richmond Road, Dublin 3 with satellite operations at Albert College Park and the National Sports Campus, Abbottstown. 

One of the most successful schoolboy clubs in the country, Stella Maris have competed for and won League and National Cup competitions at all age groups over the years stretching back to the 1940s.

The on field successes have been notable at Senior representative level with players of the stature of John Giles, Gerry Daly, Pat Dunne, Eamon Dunphy, Eoin Hand, Pierce O'Leary, John Anderson, Joey O'Brien, Stephen Carr, Shaun Williams, Troy Parrott, Stephanie Roche, Aine O'Gorman, and the current Men’s Senior International Coach Keith Andrews all starting their football careers at the club. The club have produced hundreds of schoolboy (SFAI) and Schoolgirl (WFAI) representatives and account for five Senior International Managers.

Off field the club continues to develop and provide best in class state of the art facilities at its Dublin Port Stadium headquarters where it currently provides

·      A full size Floodlit All Weather pitch

alongside a clubhouse containing

·      4 Dressing Rooms

·      Match Officials Room

·      Club Reception

·      Club Offices

·      Main Club Multifunctional room.

Currently the club is in the middle of a build plan which will see enhanced facilities at Dublin Port Stadium to include an additional three story Clubhouse containing

·      Club Shop

·      Gymnasium

·      Hydrotherapy Recovery Unit

·      Club Player Recreational-Nutritional Lounge

·      Player Coach Educational Classroom

·      Hall of Fame

·      Meeting Rooms

·      Audio Video Platform Video Analysis Room

·      Club Medicial Facility

And a new FIFA 2 Star All Weather Training/Warm Up surface.

The club has 350 members from Junior Academy age to Senior Teams with 15 teams and two academies currently in operation catering for Schoolboys – Schoolgirls and Seniors, operating in the Dublin District Schoolboys League (DDSL), the Metropolitan Girls League (MGL) and the Leinster Senior League (LSL).

Stella Maris would like to acknowledge all the past players and administrators who have played their part in making the club what it is today, and would like to thank the current Committee, Managers, Coaches, Players, Parents and club Partners  for continuing to drive the club forward today and into the future.

The FAI Club Mark is free and optional for clubs and aims to:

•          Improve the management of clubs ‘off the field’

•          Establish and promote best practice

•          Empower and support clubs

•          Recognise and reward clubs for achieving high standards

•          Increase a club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
