Earlier this month, Jigsaw has been officially appointed as Charity Partner of the FAI after staff members chose Ireland’s leading youth mental health charity to work with for the next two years.
The innovative partnership will see the FAI and Jigsaw work together under a new ‘Standing Together For Youth Mental Health’ banner for the next two years initially.
Having already received the backing of the Ireland Men's Team and Men's Under-21s, Vera Pauw's squad have also endorsed the partnership ahed of their return to Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday with another crucial 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
As part of this collaboration the FAI and Jigsaw will produce a series of mental health support programmes aimed specifically at staff, young players and coaches across all FAI affiliates.
Ireland WNT defender Niamh Fahey said: "The work that Jigsaw does with young people around mental health is so important and probably needed more than ever with so many young people dealing with added pressure.
"The players involved in the Republic of Ireland Women's National Team have been long-term supporters of Jigsaw so we were delighted to see the FAI staff choose them as their official charity partner. We hope more young people will see this and know that it's okay to talk to someone, no matter what they are going through."
