FAI President Gerry McAnaney paid tribute to Denise for the work she has done over many years for schoolgirls and ladies’ football.
Denise stepped into in the club in 2001 with one girls’ team operational. Her focus and interest in helping girls to play football was there for all to see and she worked hard to make sure girls were looked after.
Denise has all the qualities you would expect from a good coach, being organised, caring, kind and encouraging players all the time to improve. She has always stood strong for equality for girl’s football which has only improved the respect in the women’s game today.
She is also very much involved at Midleton F.C, presently Denise holds the role of Club Secretary, League Delegate to MSL, CYL, CWSSL, Children’s Officer & Covid Officer.
But what has really stood out for all at the Cork club is Denise's determination to make a difference in helping young girls to develop playing football and strive to play the highest possible level in the game.
Many players Denise has coached have gone on to play with Cork, Munster National League, professional football and for the Irish National Team.
Today girl’s football at Midleton FC is thriving with over 150 playing members & 30 coaches. This success is a true reflection on the dedication from Denise and her outstanding contribution to girl’s football in Midleton and County Cork.
The club are thrilled to have Denise in the club and she has have been an inspiration to so many.
The celebration is for a person who has done so much for the Grassroots Club and the wider community.
Denise will now be remembered for evermore at Middleton with her name now on the club girls academy. "The Denise McArdle Moore Midleton FC Girls Football Academy".
