Ireland will come face to face with Iceland on Tuesday looking to finish out their qualifying round on a high. This will be Ireland’s third game in Round 2 following their tough 2-1 loss against Finland on Saturday.

In order to reach the finals tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland need a Slovakia win over Finland and to better their result by one goal. Should all teams would finish on four points, Ireland would top the group by goal difference if that’s then equal it goes to goals scored.

Supporters are encouraged to show the Girls in Green fantastic support for their third game in Tallaght Stadium. Tickets are just €5 for adults with Under-16s going free with a ticket secure in advance.

Quotes
Republic of Ireland WU17s Manager James Scott
“I thought the game against Finland was a very good performance from the girls and it’s just unfortunate at the end. We have to, as players and staff, reflect on that and this is all part of the players' development. They’ll have days like that and the big thing is that we all learn from it.

“In fairness they’ve really bounced back well and we still have a chance to qualify so who knows, stranger things have happened.

“It’s really just a matter of, they have that opportunity and we need to go out and focus on what we do in terms of our attacking and our defending. If we do things to a high standard, I’ve no doubt that this team can go and get a very positive result against Iceland if they perform to the levels that they have done this year. We’ve a chance and hopefully Slovakia do us a favour in their game.”
