Azerbaijan 0-0 Poland

Poland passed up a clear-cut chance to open the scoring in the 12th minute when Agnieszka Jędrzejewicz was put through on goal but blazed over with just keeper Aytaj Sharifova to beat.

Azerbaijan defender Vesela Borukova made a stunning goal-line clearance to deny Patrycja Matla a certain opener in the 44th minute as Poland's pressure on the Azeri goal looked set to finally pay dividends.

The Azeris had a big chance to break the deadlock on the hour but Yaiza Relea fired over after bursting into the Polish penalty area.

Poland attacker Jędrzejewicz had a powerful shot from distance bravely saved by Sharifova in the 70th minute as the pressure continued on the Azeri goal.

The Poles came close to grabbing a sensational winner in the 89th minute when captain Ewa Cieśla dribbled past two defenders but unfortunately her shot was too high to trouble the keeper.
