Declan Sheridan's side will act as hosts for a 2pm kick-off on Wednesday, April 13 and he is expecting a tough game from an opponent who might still be hurting from a recent loss on home soil to Ireland.
A run-out last week against the Colleges & Universities team proved to be a useful exercise and Sheridan is keen for his players to make the most of this latest test ahead of the European Championships kicking off in May.
"We were fortunate in that we were able to get such as a challenging game against the Colleges & Universities, but this will be another big game for us," said Sheridan.
"We won't have too many games to play before the European Championships so this is a chance for players to prove that they deserve to be in the final squad. There is a panel of 20 players for that tournament, so there are places up for grabs.
"On top of that this is another opportunity for players to represent their country. That isn't anything new to them because they are all full-time professional soldiers serving their country abroad but this is a high level of football and one for players to aspire to."
Sheridan is right on the competitive aspect of these games and his squad selection backs that up with four players part of the Wexford Youths set-up in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
Ireland may have their long-term sights set on their Group A clashes with France, Greece and Azerbaijan in the European Championships, but they will not underestimate their opponents in this next outing.
Certainly, Sheridan will be reminding his players of the 'friendly rivalry' that exists between Ireland and the UK team, but once that first whistle goes the action will take care of itself.
