A 3-0 victory over the Scottish Universities team in Dublin earlier this month showed that Yelverton has assembled a strong panel who have the desire to play attacking football.

Many of the Irish squad are attached to SSE Airtricity League clubs and that exposure can help them in this game because their opponents boast some top talents too, including Ellis Bellamy, son of ex-Wales international Craig.

Yelverton will use the facilities at the FAI National Training Centre prior to their departure to Wales and he is eager to make the most of every advantage ahead of what should be a tricky encounter.

"This fixture in Wales gives the players the first opportunity to pull on an Irish jersey and represent their country at this level on away soil and I will be keen to continue our fine start with a good performance," said Yelverton.

"The Welsh side are a well-coached and very organised side with some top players that are sure to trouble us and I certainly expect it to be a tough game."
