Top Performer
Damien Delaney (Crystal Palace)
Wearing the captain’s armband in the 3-1 victory away to Norwich City, the Republic of Ireland international fired in his team’s second goal at the back post to cap off a fine performance at Carrow Road.

Watch Out For
Sean Murray (Wigan Athletic)
On loan from Watford for a month to build up match sharpness, the ex-Ireland Under 21 winger could turn out to be a shrewd signing for Wigan as they aim to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Coventry City.

Irish Manager Monitor
In the Championship, Chris Hughton led Brighton & Hove Albion to a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, while Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town drew 2-2 away to Brentford.
