The Football Association of Ireland confirms that Mr Ian Mallon has resigned his position as Director of Communications with the Association to take up a role with UEFA as National Associations Communications Consultant.
During his tenure with the FAI, Mr Mallon was instrumental in developing the record-breaking growth of the Association's social media and digital audiences, as well as modernising the Communications infrastructures within the Association. He oversaw the successful Communications operations at UEFA EURO 2016 in France, as well as the qualifying campaigns for EURO 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The FAI would like to thank Mr Mallon for his immense contribution to the Association and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
The FAI will shortly announce the recruitment process to backfill this position.
