With the help of of FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe), the fortnight is a UEFA supported initiative and involves actions in all of the affiliates throughout Europe.

In Ireland, it involves a partnership programme with Show Racism the Red Card. Development Officers of the FAI have been trained to deliver anti-racism education workshops using the SRTRC pack.

Preparation for the fortnight involves training of new staff to deliver workshops as well as providing briefing materials to assist staff to engage schools and clubs.

Clubs are invited to register an expression of interest in being involved in the FARE fortnight on the SRTRC website. To assist clubs in their activities, they received anti-racism themed wristbands, red cards, balls and bibs and a template activity to involve players in action.

This year, we have involved a record of 10,035 participants in actions against racism in school and in the sport. We thank the staff involved in the Football Association of Ireland for their work, the schools and clubs for their support and assistance and the players and young people for their participation in helping us tackle racism.
